This was a "paper tournament" with lots of small fish being caught and only 6 keeper fish brought in. Our thanks go out to the guests who joined us, Eddie Howk, Ezra Choate, Alan Smith, Marty Jones, Ryan Schlutz and Aaron Coat. Congrats to the top three: Aaron Coat (who had highest individual stringer overall), Marty Jones and Eddie Howk. The CFBA would also like to extend special thanks to Superior Trolling Motors for feeding CFBA and our guests at the end of the tournament. (My apologies to any guests whose names I got messed up - Gene). NEXT TOURNAMENT: BAYOU BENOIT AND THE BASIN. MAY MEETING Seven members and three guests met on May 25 for our regular monthly meeting.
It's always a blessing for men of God to get together and even better when God puts together some of His children who've not met one another before. Prospective member, DJ Thibodeaux, joined us for the evening. It looks like he's just like one of us - loves the Lord and anxious to get on the water and do some fishing! Our other guests, Larry Pierce and Mike Arnold, hail from way up North Shreveport way and from way out Northwest, Dallas way. These men came to tell us about their organization, Cross Trail Outfitters (www.teamcto.org). CTO is a Christian organization that ministers to boys age 7-20 by getting them out-of-doors and into God's country. They bring the boys out hunting, fishing and camping and teach them about growing up to be men of God - Awesome! The CFBA extends a heartfelt thanks to Larry and Mike for joining us and pray God's blessing in the great work that He's doing through them. The CFBA will be jerking bass out of Henderson on June 19 at our annual Guest Tournament. See you on the water, Gene G. (secretary) PATTERSON Can
you believe how fast the year is going by and can you believe that 3

That's right, the top 3 fish caught weighed 4.53 lbs, 3.54 lbs
and 3.36 lbs.
The Six teams were blessed with some pretty good fishing and some fantastic weather. Here's how they came out... FIRST: Guest, Jim Walton and David Hamner had 5 fish at 14.53 lbs. moving in on Saturday (again, not unusual for TB).
Don't know if the guys came to catch lots of fish, but they sure had lots of fish to eat Friday evening. A good ol CFBA shrimp and fish fry was held and, man - oh - man, was it good!! Spinner baits were reported to be the biggest producers however, our tournament leader had better luck with soft plastics (brush hogs). |

BANQUET The
CFBA held its annual banquet on January 23, 2010 at Family Life Church.
Forty members and guests attended to enjoy the food and
listen to
our speaker, Dr. Steve Horn tell of his fishing experiences
and
what it means to be a man.
Our next event is a regular scheduled tournament that will be held from Bob's Bayou Black Marina. Eight teams are paired up, geared up and, after a long stretch of cold and nasty weather, are anxious to get out on the water and pull in some more large mouth bass. Lord willing, we'll be back after the tournament to give our web readers the results and maybe a few interesting tales and pictures. God Bless, The CFBA |
